There has been a Church School on this site since 1864 and a visitor from that time would recognise much of the school as it stands today. In 2014 we celebrated 150 years of education and we are very proud that our school has gone from strength to strength.
The school is a small Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School, providing education currently for just over 120 pupils from the surrounding villages and area. Over the last 10 years we have continued to make full use of our surroundings and can now offer a Foundation Stage unit which boasts a beautiful outside play space.
Whilst we remain a small village school, the staff offer a wide range of skills, expertise and opportunities to develop our pupil's primary education and in preparation for Secondary school. Most of our children transfer to Uppingham Community College but we also have pupils who enter into the independent sector such as Oakham or Stamford.
Every child at our school receives an education brimming with creative and sporting experiences alongside expecting to achieve the highest academic standards that they can individually achieve. We support those who need extra intervention through specialist teaching and offer workshop opportunities for gifted and talented pupils. Most of all we pride ourselves on the pastoral aspect of our school and we believe that it is this, that enables each child to be the very best they can be.
As a church school we have strong links with the local community and church. Revd. Canon Cynthia Hebden leads our weekly whole school worship and monthly services in the church. Our pupils are actively involved with fund raising for various charities and we are immensely proud of their commitment to this Christian value.
We have for the second time been awarded International Schools Award from the British Council which acknowledges our commitment to developing and maintaining international links to enable our pupils to understand about the wider world.
We also offer after school care at the popular All Angels After school club which runs until 5.15pm daily together with a number of sports clubs run by outside providers. Further information on this website.
We do hope you enjoy our school website and hope that it gives a small flavour of life and learning at Hallaton C.of E. Primary School. If you would like to come and see the school for yourself we should be delighted to welcome prospective parents and pupils at any time. Please contact our Registrar, Mrs Stones to make an appointment.
