Curriculum

At Hallaton Primary School, we deliver a challenging and creative curriculum which shows a progressive series of knowledge, which the children build on year-on-year.

In Foundation Stage, the early years' curriculum concentrates on 7 areas of learning: communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. These areas of learning will be taught in a cross curricular way.

In KS1 and 2, English and Maths follow the National Curriculum in England, Programme of Study for English and Maths. Children in Foundation Stage and KS1 follow the Twinkl Phonics scheme and use the Reading scheme book bands to ensure swift and competent progress is made in reading.

Our Big Picture documents for each subject contain an overview of units studied by each year group.  Our end point documents and overviews show the progression of knowledge. Your child’s class teacher can give further information if necessary.
