Year 4 had an amazing trip to Beaumanor Hall yesterday, experiencing life as a WW2 evacuee. They tried out the listening post receiving messages, decoding and them deciding whether they were urgent or secondary. They spent time in the WW2 classroom, investigated rationing and paid a visit to the shop to buy food for their recipes. Finally, after a 1939 lunch they found themselves deep in the cellars of Beaumanor Hall where they experienced a mock air raid. It was a fantastic day and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the fabulous costumes!
